Fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev suggested that Russians celebrate the New Year by wearing clothes made of fabrics that can reflect light. His words are quoted RIA News.
According to the expert, the New Year is one of the largest and most important holidays for the country’s residents. He explained that people associate this holiday with new meetings and the implementation of new projects.
“To celebrate the New Year well, I advise everyone, especially women, to wear fabrics with light-reflecting effects: brocade, glitter, sequins, beads,” Vasiliev emphasized.
The fashion historian also noted the need to choose clothes that suit one’s tone. As the expert says, not every color of clothes suits everyone.
He explained that a lot depends on eye and hair color. Especially, as the expert notes, blue-eyed blondes and blondes should abandon red clothes and prefer clothes in “greenish” and “bluish” tones.
“Brown eyes require different colors,” the expert added.
In addition, Vasiliev advised women not to wear tight dresses on New Year’s Eve. He explained that during the holidays, people spend a lot of time at the table and treat themselves to a lot of food. In such a situation, there is a risk of “just getting fat from dinner”, and in this case tight clothes will no longer look “interesting” on the figure.
Finally, the fashion historian recommended that Russians turn to second-hand stores if they cannot find a good outfit in their personal wardrobe or cannot buy something in the store. As he says, the world is now experiencing fatigue with the amount of new clothing entering the market.
