To find last-minute accommodation options for New Year’s Eve, you need to consider destinations that are not very popular. Cuva service expert Ekaterina Tsaruk told socialbites.ca about this.

According to the expert, housing in popular tourist areas is either sold out or too expensive.

“According to research, the three most popular destinations are Moscow and St. Petersburg and Kazan. These places can also be visited at other times when demand is slightly less and prices are lower. But you should choose something that is not so popular during the New Year holidays. Find out which cities are not so popular among tourists and feel free to book accommodation there – it will definitely be much cheaper. For example, in the south of Russia you can visit Vladikavkaz, Gelendzhik, Anapa,” Tsaruk explained.

He added that destinations such as Belarus, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan should be taken into consideration abroad.

“For example, Abkhazia. There are no visas or international passports, it is beautifully snowy in the mountains and warm on the beach, and there are hotels that are not crowded with tourists. You can relax here much cheaper than in Sochi, but the views will be even more spectacular in many ways. And on New Year’s Eve you can go for a walk in Sochi, which is very expensive,” said the expert.

According to Tsaruk, you shouldn’t limit yourself to just searching for hotel rooms.

“Study the market! “For example, there are gift vouchers for holidays in unusual places: for a fixed amount you can choose from more than 100 accommodation options, including mini-houses, glamping, art sites, eco-parks,” he said.
