Twins separated at birth were reunited after 19 years thanks to TikTok. writes about this New York Post.
In November 2021, 21-year-old Georgian resident Ano Sartania received a TikTok video from a friend that showed a blue-haired woman who looked exactly like her. A friend asked why Sartania dyed her hair blue, and then the girl said it wasn’t her.
Sartania reposted the video in a Facebook group (the owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and has been banned in Russia) to find out who was in the video. A woman responded to the message and sent Sartania contact information about the hero of the TikTok video.
The video was revealed to be Ano Sartania’s twin sister, Tako Hvitia. The girls met on the Rustaveli Bridge in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
“Every person has a unique smell. When I hugged him, I felt something familiar. Then the voice that felt like I already knew him,” Sartania shared.
It turned out that the twins were separated at birth by their respective fathers. Due to complications during birth, the girls’ mother, Aza Shoni, fell into a coma. Her husband, Gocha Gakharia, was convinced for a long time that the twins did not belong to him and decided to illegally sell Ano and Tako to families living in different parts of Georgia.
After meeting, the sisters began traveling together and managing social networks. They refused to meet the father who separated them and their relationship was confirmed by DNA testing.
