Pies, pancakes, soups and dumplings are among the 7 most warming dishes in Russia. Experts from the Tutu travel service told Gazeta.ru about this.

“Kystyby is common not only in Tatars, but also in Bashkir and Chuvash cuisines. It is filled with unleavened flatbread, millet porridge or potatoes,” the experts began.

They also noted the wickets – cute open-faced rye flour pies and a fisherman with cod and halibut.

“One of the main dishes in the north of Russia is, of course, fish soup. In the Arkhangelsk region, you can try special Pomeranian fish soup with cod fillet and liver and halibut fillet. There are many recipes for fish soup: some add milk and herbs,” experts said.

As for soups, experts recommend trying kullim, a very thick, rich and satisfying soup made in Bashkortostan and Tatarstan.

“A trip to the Sverdlovsk region, Perm region and other Ural regions will not be so interesting if you do not try real dumplings, which warm you even in cold weather. And in big cities like Yekaterinburg, you can go to a culinary master class and cook the dumplings yourself,” they advised.

As a result, they drew attention to sourdough pancakes prepared using yeast.
