Journalist Ksenia Sobchak reacted to what happened at Makhachkala airport telegram channel.
According to the TV presenter, former State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev (known as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), who emigrated to Ukraine, may have been involved. Sobchak called not to spread hatred on ethnic grounds.
“Everyone already knows that the Telegram channel linked to Ilya Ponomarev called on participants to commit violence at the airport and promised to organize mass anti-Semitic protests. “Ponomarev lives in Kiev, it is clear with whose money he developed these projects and with which intelligence services he cooperates,” the journalist explained.
Sobchak noted that the state ignored the provocation, so people started checking the passports of those arriving at the airport.
“Until the state and those responsible for propaganda on television understand that you cannot feed people hatred in any way, because it will always attack unexpectedly and terribly, we will continue to move towards medieval xenophobia. I feel ashamed when I hear again in the 21st century that someone is looking for “Jews” to beat up. Remove those who sow hatred! Bring back normal discussion in the media,” the TV presenter wrote on his blog.
