Professional dental cleanings should be performed at least four times a year. Oksana Leonova, dentist, co-founder and chief physician of Will White Clinic, told socialbites.ca.

“Regular professional hygiene is crucial to maintaining optimal oral health. For professional oral hygiene, it is recommended to visit a professional at least every three to four months, but more frequently for some individuals,” he said.

Leonova listed four reasons why you should not neglect professional teeth cleaning. According to him, this procedure allows you to remove dense plaque that cannot be gotten rid of at home, prevent the formation of caries and tartar.

“Removing tartar during dental hygiene helps prevent the development of periodontitis, a disease characterized by inflammation of the gums and destruction of the supporting tissue of the teeth. The dentist emphasized that tartar can accumulate in hard-to-reach places, leading to gingivitis, bleeding and even tooth loss.

In addition, Leonova noted that this procedure saves budget:

“The cost of going to three or four dentists a year will be much less than treating cavities and pulpitis.”

Finally, according to the doctor, during the procedure, the patient is reminded of the correct technique of brushing his teeth and the hygiene products suitable for him.

Previously dentist Avtandilyan statedthat smoking is fraught with tooth decay.
