After Paris Fashion Week ended, celebrities began bringing bedbugs to the United States. This was reported by TMZ.
As the publication explains, the bugs were “lucky enough to reach Hollywood stars returning to the United States.” Now a pest organization is issuing a stern warning to all travelers from France.
Jim Fredericks, certified entomologist and senior vice president of public affairs for the National Pest Control Association, issued a series of warnings.
“All celebrities attending fashion shows or staying in luxury hotels in Paris are required to carefully check their luggage and linens. This also applies to those who stay in the most prestigious hotels. Five stars or one, bedbugs don’t care and they want to get into any environment,” Fredericks said.
He also added that any sign of exoskeleton or fecal stains is a sure sign of bedbugs. The expert recommended storing luggage outside bedrooms as a preventive measure.
