’90s supermodel Cindy Crawford says she won’t cut her hair short after having to cut it for a shoot. Excerpts from the model’s interview have been published People.
In the new mini-documentary series Supermodels, Cindy Crawford opened up about the traumatic experience of having her hair cut by a hairdresser without her consent. The model explained that this happened during a photo shoot in Rome with famous photographer Patrick Demarchelier. According to Crawford, the shooting was “more of a nightmare than a dream” for him.
“The first evening they sent me a hairdresser to cut my hair. She tied my hair into a ponytail and cut it without asking. I was so shocked that I sat in a hotel in Rome and cried. People have been wondering ever since then why I never cut my hair; Here’s why. “I was traumatized,” said Cindy Crawford.
The model added that at that moment she felt like “a person without the right to vote.”
“It’s not because I don’t like my short hair, it’s because I wasn’t asked if I wanted a short haircut. Then I thought: “If this is what being a model means, then I’m not ready for it,” Crawford explained.
In the documentary series Supermodels, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington will tell how they became fashion icons of the 90s.
Formerly Cindy Crawford criticized Oprah Winfrey for unethical behavior.
