90s supermodel Linda Evangelista claimed that her ex-husband Gerald Marie abused her during their five-year marriage. Excerpts from an interview with the actress have been published daily mail.

In the Apple TV+ documentary Supermodels, Linda Evangelista opened up about the abuse inflicted by her ex-husband Gerald Marie and praised the women who accused him of rape “for giving him the courage to speak out.”

“I realized I was in the wrong relationship. Leaving an abusive relationship is always easier said than done. I understand this concept because I have lived it. “If you had to say ‘I want a divorce, see you soon’… But that’s not happening,” the model shared.

Linda Evangelista was married to Gerald Marie, for whom she headed the European agency Elite Model Management from 1987 to 1993.

“I married him when I was 22 and left when I was 27, and he left me while taking everything. But I was safe and free,” she added.

In 2020, seven women accused Gerald Marie of sexual assault and rape. According to Linda Evangelista, she immediately believed their statements.

“Thanks to the strength of all these women, I have the courage to speak out. I want justice to prevail. “I want such fools to think twice and be afraid, and I want women to know that they are not alone,” she concluded.
