Almost half of the respondents did not wear jewelry as a child, now only 17% do not allow their children to wear jewelry. The analytical center of the SOKOLOV brand and the Ozone market shared the results of the study with socialbites.ca.

According to the research, more than half of the Russians surveyed remember the moment their ears were pierced. 23% of the women surveyed also admitted that they started to wear jewelry such as earrings, rings and necklaces regularly at preschool age.

“The initiative to wear jewelry comes from both the parents and the child themselves: More than a quarter of those surveyed started wearing jewelry of their own free will between the ages of 7 and 12, and 31% agreed with their parents’ recommendation. Between the ages of 3 and 7,” — experts noted.

Parents also stated that they allow their children to wear jewelry at school; but it all depends on how expensive the jewelry is.

“Less than a third of parents are ready to spend from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles on jewelry for a child, the other 25% believe that the optimal amount is up to 3,000 rubles. “19 percent are ready to spend 5-10 thousand rubles to buy something valuable for their children,” he said.

Cat-shaped silver children’s earrings and gilded silver semi-flower earrings were the most popular sets.
