After the summer holiday season, the number of patients suffering from skin problems due to excessive tanning in clinics is increasing. This was told socialbites.ca by cosmetologist Evgenia Antimirova, medical director of the Aesthetic Clinic clinical network.

According to Antimirova, skin pigmentation and hyperpigmentation have become a seasonal issue for beauticians.

“At the end of the summer, we observe the flow of patients who traditionally spend the summer sunbathing,” says Evgenia Antimirova. Pigmentation is the body’s response to sunburn abuse. Melanocyte cells protect the body from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. But with prolonged exposure to the sun, melanocyte cells do not multiply or are unevenly distributed on the skin, which leads to age spots, ”said the beautician.

He noted that pigmentation disorders require complex treatment and that it will not be possible to get rid of the problem at once.

“It is necessary to compensate for the lack of vitamins even outside the hormonal background, to prepare the skin with special cosmetics and to carry out procedures to remove the pigment already against this background,” said the doctor.

The expert added that hyperpigmentation is not always treatable.

“There is pigmentation, such as melasma, that cannot be removed with the help of cosmetology,” Antimirova warned.

The doctor advised me to take preventive measures and prevent the development of pigmentation – to be in the sun only from 9.00 to 11.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, and also to choose the right sunscreen.

Former beautician saidIs it possible to sunbathe in a solarium with psoriasis?
