One of the most dangerous in terms of possible product poisoning in the heat is shawarma. This was told socialbites.ca by an infectious disease specialist, head of the hepatological division of CDC MONIKI. MF Vladimirsky, specialist of the “Doctor” TV channel Ivetta Gorshkova.
“Shawarma is a very dangerous product. It does not matter when you eat it – in winter or summer, but in the heat the risk increases,” he said.
The doctor advised to buy shawarma only in proven places where all cooking technologies are strictly observed.
“Hot weather, improper storage of ingredients, preparation of an already spoiled, bacteria-contaminated product, violations in the preparation process, unwashed hands of the cook – all this can lead to serious poisoning,” he warned.
Gorshkova added that in the summer, meat and dairy products can also cause poisoning.
“In summer, protein products should be stored in the refrigerator, because protein is a breeding ground for various bacteria. Meat can be eggs. The same is true for dishes prepared from these products.”
