Charles III to be presented with the Scottish Crown Jewels at a private ceremony in Edinburgh

The Scottish Crown Jewels were honored by King George III during a special dedication and thanksgiving ceremony at St Egidius Cathedral in Edinburgh. It will be presented to Charles. writes about it daily mail.

The date of the ceremony has not yet been announced. However, last week, Historic Environment Scotland sent an email to thousands of its members warning that Edinburgh Castle will be closed to the public on July 5 due to “anticipated ceremonial events”.

It was also noted that the Throne Room in the castle, where the world’s oldest royal jewels are kept, will be closed between 4-6 July.

Buckingham Palace announced last week that the King will be in Edinburgh on the 4th of July and will be holding a garden party at Holyroodhouse.

Scottish royal attributes consist of the crown, scepter and state sword. The crown was made for James V, who first wore it at the coronation of Queen Mary of Guise at Holyrood Abbey in 1540. The Scottish crown is decorated with more than 40 precious stones.
