The Victoria’s Secret lingerie fashion show returns with a World Tour documentary after a 5-year hiatus. writes about it WWD.
The documentary, set to air this fall, promises to “bring together fashion, cinema, art and culture.” The “World Tour” will show performances by supermodels and artists, as well as how the creative process is organized behind the scenes.
The film was directed by the duo Partel Oliva, who previously shot campaigns for Chanel, Kenzo and Versace, and 20 creatives from all over the world, from Bogotá and Lagos to London and Tokyo. These include artists, choreographers, cinematographers, fashion designers and other creative units who will create an individual design for Victoria’s Secret.
Raul Martinez, Victoria’s Secret Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, said: “This film is the ultimate expression of the transformation of the Victoria’s Secret brand. It will be driven by fashion, glamor and fun, a nod to the beloved iconography of the past, but in a bold and reimagined way.”
After scandals involving the company’s former management and a drastic drop in ratings, the Victoria’s Secret show was canceled indefinitely in 2019.
