The jewelry set that Princess Diana wore shortly before her death will be sold by Guernsey’s auction house. It has been reported WWD.

We’re talking about the necklace that Princess Diana wore during her visit to the Swan Lake ballet at the Royal Albert Hall in London on June 3, 1997. The jewelry was created by the British jewelry house Garrard according to her own sketch of Princess Diana. To create the necklace, the jewelers used 178 diamonds and 7 identical 12 mm South Sea pearls with a total weight of 51 carats. Following this release of Diana, the necklace was returned to Garrard for the jewelers of the house to make earrings for her. By the time the kit was completed, the Princess of Wales had died in a car accident.

“All the jewelry Diana wore was lent to her by the queen or belonged to the crown. She wore a lot of different jewelry, but it usually didn’t belong to her, Arlan Ettinger, president of Guernsey, told WWD.

According to her, the pearl and diamond set, later called the Swan Lake Suite, could have been a gift to Diana from Dodi Fayed, heir to her lover Harrod.
