Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet offered its buyers a guarantee if they were stolen or damaged by thieves. It has been reported Bloomberg.
Francois-Henri Bennamia, CEO of the Swiss conglomerate Le Brassus, which includes the Audemars Piguet and Blancpain watch brands, spoke about the new service in an interview with the publication. He said Audemars Piguet will reimburse for theft or damage of watches purchased in 2022 or 2023 under a two-year warranty – in case of problems, the customer will either receive damage or a new watch or a free repair.
According to François-Henri Bennamia, the introduction of the new service is due to the increase in watch theft.
“We listen to our customers and we also need to follow what’s going on in the world right now. “We have major cities in Europe and the US that are no longer safe,” he said.
For the first time, a luxury watch manufacturer is offering its customers a refund or replacement in case of theft. It is stated that an average watch produced by Audemars Piguet costs $55,000.
