High testosterone level can be a sign of the development of both normal and tumor processes. This was told socialbites.ca by Konstantin Antonov, urologist, andrologist, ultrasound doctor of Atlas clinics, head of the clinic in Serpukhov Val.

According to the urologist, increased testosterone production can be caused by other hormones – luteinizing hormone and hCG.

“Excessive luteinizing hormone and hCG can be associated with a variety of neoplasms, including those in the pituitary gland and testicles because they are tumors that actively produce these hormones,” he said.

As the doctor explains, neoplasms do not always manifest themselves as some kind of symptom, so it is important to make a timely diagnosis.

“The tumor may not cause discomfort or pain and may not even be felt on examination, but may indicate the presence of excess testosterone,” he warned.

Such neoplasms are usually malignant and require surgical treatment.

“It can occur in men at any age. If the testosterone level exceeds the permissible level, then you need to consult a urologist or endocrinologist, ”added Antonov.
