Dryness and peeling of the lips can be a reaction to the components of cosmetics. This has been reported Sun with reference to Bruce Green, a certified scientist and chemist.

Such a common seasonal complaint, such as chapped lips, can be caused by contact heititis – inflammation of the red border, mucous membranes and skin of the lips. According to Bruce Green, this could be an allergy to ingredients found in cosmetics.

“Allergic reactions to many irritants can occur, including toothpaste and mouthwash, perfumed cosmetics, certain lipstick ingredients such as castor oil, medications, and various foods,” Greene said.

Dryness, peeling, itching, burning, redness, deep cracks and “squeezing” in the corners of the mouth are among the symptoms of the disease.
