One of Marilyn Monroe’s most personal possessions, her father Charles Stanley Gifford’s birthday card, sold for a record price at Julien’s Auctions and TCM Present over the weekend. A press release issued by the auction house stated that the postcard is the only known material artifact that has made any connection between Gifford and his famous daughter.

“Sold for $31,250,” the auction house tweeted.

Earlier this year, DNA analysis proved that Charles Stanley Gifford is the biological father of the latest movie legend. The father-daughter relationship will reportedly be featured in a new documentary, Marilyn, The Last Secret.
