Russians spent 13% more food on the New Year’s table this year than last year

In 2022, the Russians spent 3,595 thousand rubles on mayonnaise, crab sticks and red caviar and tangerines. This is 13% more than last year, author TASS with reference to data from the analytical source “Control Index”.

The source analyzed the spending of Russians on the most popular products at the New Year’s table in the period from December 1 to December 15, compared to the same period of 2021.

As before knowledgeable “socialbites.ca”, about 15% of Russians are ready to buy New Year’s gifts and credit for the table. This stems from a Unicom financial ecosystem study. According to Unicom, 72% of respondents currently do not have enough money to cover all the expenses required for the New Year’s celebration. 40% said that about 5 thousand rubles are missing. 35% – 5-10 thousand rubles, 25% – more than 10 thousand rubles.

The company noted that 60% of Russians expect the 2023 celebrations to seriously impact their budgets. 15% of respondents said they are ready for increased spending. 10% admitted that they did not feel any additional financial burden on the eve of their holiday preparations. 5% will not increase their spending. The remaining 10% had difficulty in estimating their holiday expenses.
