To create a “Christmas spirit” at home, you should not spray the artificial Christmas tree with aromas, instead you can make fragrant sachets from perfume oils and spices. Perfumer Ekaterina Sidoria told socialbites.ca about this.
“You shouldn’t even try to spray sweeteners on artificial spruce. The materials from which Christmas trees are made do not absorb odors. Neither aroma oil nor alcohol-based coniferous flavorings will help, ”she explained.
Instead, the perfumer suggested making scented sachets from spruce, pine needles or fir oils and hanging them on a Christmas tree.
“But instead of buying oils sold in the pharmacy, it is better to give preference to professional perfumes – they are of higher quality and more durable,” said the expert.
Sidoria also suggested improvising fragrances using spices and citrus perfume oils.
“Drop a few drops of orange oil on a cinnamon stick and make an ornament for a Christmas tree or Christmas wreath. Or take an orange and stick dried cloves inside. A few of these oranges and a delicate, cheerful aroma will fly into the house, ”the perfumer shared.
