‘Deadpool vs Wolverine’ review: two rival superheroes

Kevin Feigeideologist, architect and creator Marvel Cinematic Universeborrowed a character that didn’t appear in his first two films, Deadpooljoined him Wolverine – a Marvel classic who was resurrected through the multiverse and timeline changes after dying in ‘Logan’ – peppered the set with a villain of his own, Professor Xavier’s twin sister Cassandra Nova, among others. superheroes from very different stories, scattered somewhat randomly throughout the plot (Elektra, Gambit, Blade, Human Torch) and with these straws he built a device with which he wanted to regain the time and ground lost due to the series’ recent failures.

True collision. Deadpool is a walking joke, a near-dead superhero who constantly makes funny comments and talks directly into the fourth wall. Wolverine is a tortured, drunk superhero who doesn’t give a damn. They don’t make for the best superhero duo possible, but they’re not a disaster either. In the shared ecosystem that Feige and Ryan Reynolds have designed for themselves, where Deadpool is its own franchise: he stars, produces, and participates in the script.

If you take it as a joke, as a parody, it might be funny.Multi-referentiality is more important than the multiverses of old, so let’s enjoy the mouthy Reynolds and his references and jabs at Madonna, Fox, Disney studios, Batman or Feige. If you take it seriously, there’s only one dramatic moment, Wolverine confessing his many sins..

If you look from the Marvel universe, the appearances of other characters lack any real presence, they are more like special winks so we can see them in action again. Wesley Snipes anyone Jennifer Garner On Marvel missions. As an action movie it’s weak. Some of the great fight scenes were, frankly, poorly shot. As a comedy it has its moments. I’ll leave these aside to avoid spoilers, but they are very masterful.
