According to the Bulletin of the Film Distributor, 127 Russian cinemas showed illegal copies of films in the past week. As noted Aleksey Voronkov, president of the Association of Cinema Owners, a month ago there were only 16 such cinemas.

I can’t even blame the movie theaters doing “torrent showings” right now. To date, the wave of unauthorized showing of film copies is developing exponentially and will only grow: four weeks ago, such content was shown live in 16 cinemas, last week – already in 127 cinemas. I understand that this is not primarily caused by the desire to make money, but by the desire to survive, especially small cinemas. And oddly enough, some of these 127 are municipal.
At the same time, the dynamics of cinema closures in Russia are gaining momentum. It has already surpassed 2020 numbers when the pandemic was at its peak.
The trial began after the Hollywood majors – Universal, Warner Bros., Disney, Sony and Paramount – announced a temporary halt to distribution of their films in Russia. And some even closed their offices.🐈 Here he is – the main character of the game Stray
