Maria Sharapova, 37, was a guest at the annual Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 6. The tennis player posed on the carpet in her long yellow off-shoulder dress, which she completed with a light green cape with a tail, pearl earrings and white shoes. The outfit was designed by Nepali American designer Prabal Gurung. Makeup artists applied nude make-up to the celebrity, and stylists tied her hair into a ponytail and decorated it with flowers.
Ksenia Sobchak did not like the tennis player’s outfit.
“Maria Sharapova looks a bit like iceberg lettuce,” the journalist joked.
The tennis player retired in 2020 at the age of 32. The athlete won the Grand Slam tournaments five times, she is one of the ten women in history with a career slam (she won all the Grand Slam tournaments, but in different years). Sharapova is also the winner of 39 WTA tournaments (36 of them in singles).
