Itziar Miranda: “No one will feel cheated by the ending of ‘Amar es para siempre'”

-They shot the finale of the series in October. What emotions did you experience when interpreting this result?

-So many emotions with everything the word represents. Because sometimes there were moments when we couldn’t help but look at each other and cry, and sometimes there were moments when our looks told us how lucky we were. Sometimes we were sad, we were nostalgic, sometimes we were very excited, we thought that the series was now history on television and we didn’t even realize it.

-Was there any actor who didn’t cry in the last scene?

-No one, we all cry a lot. In fact, it cost us a lot to do this. I I couldn’t learn the last sentence. I don’t know what happened to me, my brain blocked and we had to repeat a lot, something that had never happened to me before. Because when I said this sentence, I already knew it was over.

-Do you think the public will cry over this result?

-Certainly. Moreover, this ending will be everything that the public expects, no one will feel cheated with this ending of Amar. It has been worked hard and cared for.

-Many actors will envy you, Manuel Baqueiro and José Antonio Sayagués are the trio who have been in the series since the beginning. Because it is not very common to work in your profession for so many years.

-I am privileged because of the economic and emotional stability it provides us and, above all, the learning. Our profession is very intermittent and it’s not normal to have a series like this, but when they hire you you don’t know it’s going to last 18 years. In fact, it was the only time in my life that I didn’t do any casting because it was a very short series and I had a very small character. Don’t notice!

-Manolita, the mother of a large family and a businesswoman whom we will see at the end, has nothing to do with that girl from the beginning.

-She is one of the most beautiful female characters written for this purpose in our fiction. Just like our mother, our grandmother, a woman who had to go through very difficult times, how she faced the change that society went through, how she transformed herself and listened to her daughters. She is one of the least typecast characters on television because how she starts has nothing to do with how she ends.

-Manolita’s life is not the only thing that has changed a lot in these 18 years. Also, for example, yours truly, a two-time mother.

-Yes, I gave birth twice in ‘Amar’.

-From birth?

-Yes. When I went into labor with my first daughter, they didn’t believe it. It took the writers a long time to change the script because they thought it was a joke. Everything happened to me because it’s been almost 20 years, from 25 to 45.

-Which moment of the series do you remember most fondly?

-I see myself on the set with my daughters, making babies. It was such a magical moment. Since I was breastfeeding them, I took them to the set and they very naturally became part of the Asturiano family.

-So what’s the hardest?

-We had very dramatic farewells every year, because the players changed, we suffered a lot.

-Some viewers were convinced that her husband in the series, Manuel Baqueiro, was also her husband in real life.

-Yes, they told me this many times in the market. But this happened not only to people on the street, but also to people in the profession. Asunción Balaguer thought we were a couple in real life, so we had to deny it.

-He has two movies to be released: ‘Tierra Baja’ and ‘Cariñena’ and continues his book collections. Have you ever wanted to do a daily soap again?

-Yes, I feel that way. I love daily soaps and don’t plan on doing them again.
