Employees of Russian enterprises who do not want to lose much money due to vacation should rest during non-holiday months. Anastasia Morgunova, co-founder of the online accounting company My Business, told socialbites.ca.
“It is not profitable to take a vacation in the months when there are many holidays and weekends. “This can be easily checked by calculating the cost of one working day in different months,” Morgunova said.
He explained that according to the law, the number of holidays and weekends does not affect the salary.
“That is, the employee will receive the same salary both in a month with many holidays, for example in January, and in a month without holidays, for example in October 2024. In January there will be 17 working days, and in October – 23. With a salary of 30,000 rubles, a working day in January will cost 1,765 rubles, and in October – 1,304 rubles,” explained the expert.
He also added that holiday pay is calculated based on average earnings over the last 12 months. Thus, a vacation day taken in January will be considered cheaper than a working day and the person will receive less money than if he were working.
Morgunova stated that the most unprofitable time to go on vacation in 2024 is January, a similar situation will arise in June, there will be only 19 working days in this month.
“And the months with the most working days and worth taking a vacation are July and October, with 23 working days each. In April, September, November and December – 21 working days each, in August – 22 working days. “If you go on vacation during these months, your money loss will be insignificant,” he said.
