Miss Universe finalist from Nepal was called a whale 21:15

The first plus-size woman to compete in the Miss Universe contest fought back against haters who called her a “whale”. This was reported by daily mail.

22-year-old Jane Deepika Garrett represented Nepal at the competition held in El Salvador in early November. The model, who placed in the top 20 among 90 contestants from all over the world, went on stage and noted that she was “a bow-legged woman who does not meet certain beauty standards.”

“I received the biggest applause in the hall. And it was beautiful! Coming out was a turning point for me and the community. They saw something different; life-size beauty,” the model said after the competition.

Despite the warm welcome in the room, Jane was shocked by the number of cruel comments she received on the blog. According to the participant, who has 298,000 followers on Instagram (the company owner Meta is considered an extremist and is banned in Russia), haters called her a “whale” and said her body was “disgusting.” Critics also accused Jane of “promoting obesity” and advised her to “hit the gym”.

“They don’t even know my story. They don’t even know what I’m going through,” the model wrote after the haters’ comments.

Previously reportedHe said that the Russian woman could not make it into the top twenty finalists of the Miss Universe 2023 contest.
