‘Jurassic World: Dominion’: Dinosaurs don’t deserve this

if the final scenesJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ (2018) promised a world humanity’s supremacy would be threatened by prehistoric creatures eager to regain planetary leadership, now its sequel is failing that premise. Instead, he follows two different narrative lines, perpetrated by a devastating locust plague and a kidnapping, respectively, and while changing them, he travels the world staging a series of action sequences inspired by scenes starring heroes like Indiana Jones. Ethan Hunt and Jason Bourne. Despite these testimonials, pretty much everything these bars have to offer Evidence of director Colin Trevorrow’s inability to use the camera or respect the laws of spatial continuity, narrative logic, and truthfulness.

Once these subplots are combined, the movie becomes: series of more or less real allusions from titles before it to memorable moments. Just like in recent games like ‘Ghostbusters: Beyond’ (2021) or ‘Scream’ (2022), ‘Dominion’ a rough exercise in nostalgic exploitation It was designed to please fans, but at the same time, it clearly failed to see what it was that made them so. Despite rescuing the main characters of ‘Jurassic Park’ (1993), squandering their already dubious iconic potential by sticking boring dialogue into their mouths and giving them little to do; and although he fills his images with a wide variety of dinosaurs, he insists on denying their powers or treating them as an event or contractual imposition. It’s time to let them disappear again.
