In the first series, a woman (Lea Seydoux) presented to the audience. She says she is 33 years old, has a lovely four-year-old daughter, but is trapped in a loveless marriage and is having an affair with well-known American novelist Philip, who lives with her husband in London. Later, we see the English woman (whose name we will never know) in Philip’s apartment. (Denys Podalydes) It was used as a workplace. She asks him to close his eyes and tell everything. The woman does this and ends by saying that there are only Jews and books about Jews on the table.
it cannot be denied the fictional Philip is Philip Roth, ‘Engaño’ (1990), author of the novel on which the film is based. It was the first movie in which Roth became the center of the plot. It’s facts and fantasies. Although his most important relationship is with the English woman, he explores the other women in the storyteller’s life. Are these true loves, or are they ideas that the author had come up with and wrote down in a notebook that his wife discovered? Arnaud Desplechin He remained loyal to himself by staying true to Roth, and that’s a very difficult thing to achieve. His dedication to the word and his work with artists so that the word is not rhetorical, tedious, or simply representational results in a magnificent film about the obsessions and fears of both creators and creatures.
