LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, 74, gathers his family for a 90-minute lunch in the dining room of the company’s Paris headquarters, during which he asks his children for their ideas on how best to run the holding.
Arnault reads information on his iPad as he listens to his children’s business development insights: Delphine Arnault, 48, who runs Christian Dior; 45-year-old Antoine Arnault, CEO of the company that owns a family stake in LVMH; Alexander Arno, 30, vice president of Tiffany & Co.; Frederic Arnault, 28, who runs the TAG Heuer watch brand; and Jean Arnault, 24, head of marketing and development for the company’s watch division.
The monthly meetings are part of Arno’s plan to prepare his children to run the company after he’s gone.
When Arno’s children grew up, they were given intensive math lessons, and the businessman took them with him on business trips and interviews.
