Nike sued Lululemon for infringing on its patents after releasing four sneakers. writes about it CNBC.
In a complaint filed in federal court in Manhattan, the Nike brand claims that it suffered economic losses as a result of Lululemon’s sale of Chargefeel Mid, Chargefeel Low, Blissfeel and Strongfeel shoes. Nike stated that three of its patent claims were related to textiles in shoes, and another claim was related to the performance of the shoe.
Nike seeks compensation.
“Nike’s allegations are baseless and we hope to prove our case in court,” a Lululemon spokesperson said.
Lululemon launched the Blissfeel, its first running shoes for women, in March. The second shoe in the Chargefeel line was launched in July for running and training.
In January 2022, Nike also sued Lululemon, accusing the Canadian clothing manufacturer of infringing six patents on the Mirror home fitness device and related mobile apps. Nike is seeking triple damages in this case.
