AMC recently showed the last episode of The Walking Dead, a series that consists of eleven seasons. In it, viewers can see the final of a 12-year history. However, it recently became known that the ending could have been different. Be careful, there may be spoilers!
Recently, director Greg Nicotero, who also serves as the show’s producer, confirmed the existence of an alternate ending.
There was one more scene that we filmed, but when it was decided to add a coda (an extra part at the end of the play), we thought it would conflict with the Rick and Michonne part. So we removed it.
A person close to the series later revealed the details of a cut ending in the future.
After Daryl left, we went to Liberty Park, where an iconic shot of Rick was featured in the pilot episode. There was a gas van with a young woman and a man (about twenty years old) in the front seats. The scene made it clear that these are the adults RJ and Judith (Rick’s children). The rest of the adult versions of Rick’s children sit in the back – Coco, Gracie, etc. Their goal is to find all the survivors and escort them to their communities, continuing their parents’ work. When RJ speaks on the radio, he ends the call with the phrase, “If you can hear me, answer. It’s Rick Grimes.” (This is the same line Rick said in the pilot episode). The scene would then end with the survivor replying, “Hello?”.
The Insider publication noted that opinion on the alternate ending was divided. Some liked the ending with its emotionality. Others, on the other hand, thought it was too “canned” and “pointless” as it is stupid to show characters unknown to the audience.
