In a recent update on her YouTube blog, Yulia Savicheva explained that she misplaced her passport. The incident occurred while she was in St. Petersburg, ahead of a planned trip there. She was slated to perform at the Golden Gramophone awards, and as a precaution she needed to renew her passport to keep the journey on track. A temporary certificate was issued to ensure travel plans could proceed smoothly until the new document could be issued.
Savicheva stated that she wasn’t distressed by the loss.
“If I’m honest, I’m glad you didn’t see my real passport and what it looks like now. It was completely worn out. It wasn’t just a minor setback—imagine how many tours it accompanied, how many stamps it bore, and, of course, it had seen water as well,” the singer shared.
She also noted that she is pleased to have a new passport with a fresh, clear photo.
Yulia Savicheva first rose to prominence after competing in the second season of Star Factory, where she finished among the top five. In 2004, she represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 11th place.
Earlier remarks from Savicheva indicated she had taken responsibility for her relationship with an abuser, offering a personal account beyond her musical career.
