The case involves the investigation into the assault on Marina Kotashenko, the widow of Alexander Gradsky, with findings reported by TASS and attributed to Irina Volk, a spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. The authorities indicate that a preliminary inquiry into the criminal case has been completed against a member of an organized group accused of diverting 100 million rubles from a female victim.
A man born in 1994 with prior convictions has been charged with robbery on a large scale. Volk noted that the inquiry progressed under the leadership of the investigation department within the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the account, three unidentified individuals in the Moscow region engaged in a separate incident in which Marina Kotashenko’s vehicle was involved in a collision on afternoona of January 16. After the accident, the same individuals forced the widow to enter Gradsky’s car at gunpoint and directed her to a summer residence where she resided. It is alleged that they obtained 100 million rubles in cash from Kotashenko, reportedly stashing the money under a bed. The abductors then escorted the victim toward Aprelevka, where they boarded their own vehicle and fled in an unspecified direction. An eyewitness described the security guard of Kotashenko’s apartment as the incident’s bystander.
On January 26, 2022, one of Gradsky’s widow’s attackers admitted guilt in court, marking a development in the ongoing legal process.
