Rapper Oxxxymiron, whose real name is Miron Fedorov, is facing attention after filing for the trademark registration for the wordmark “Gorgorod.” Reports from Flow Press highlight this development.
The application arrived about one month after the July 3 release of the album Gorgorod 2, which was released by Vyacheslav Mashnov, known professionally as Slava KPSS. The registration process is currently under review by the state agency Rospatent.
The discovery came through a public database that lists registered and submitted trademarks. If the trademark is granted, Fedorov would gain the ability to request the removal of unauthorized uses of the Gorgorod name on various platforms and to pursue legal action against the sale of products branded with Gorgorod.
Gorgorod 2 by Gorgorod’s creative team reached the top ten on Apple Music following its release, marking notable chart performance in the streaming market.
Separately, a neural-network inspired continuation of the Gorgorod project began circulating online. The original recording, which appeared on video sharing platforms, was blocked due to copyright concerns raised by Oxxxymiron. Reuploads are still accessible on VK in a separate playlist and channel.
Earlier, Instasamka publicly discussed the possibility of taking legal action against Mia Boyka, signaling ongoing tensions in the digital music and influencer communities.
The evolving situation illustrates how a high-profile artist can leverage trademark protections while engaging with new media formats and online distribution channels, all within a rapidly changing legal landscape regarding copyright and brand management.
