The Thunder Festival stands as a cornerstone for experimental music and marks its seventh edition this Saturday at Las Cigarreras in Alicante. The lineup spotlights Dhansha, Amsia, Buildthenburnt, and Javier Piñango. The festival earned a 2023 subsidy from the Ministry of Culture, underscoring its dedication to avant garde art within the region.

Thunderous Fest aims to bring together a wide range of hard to find artistic voices under one roof, spanning concert venues and intimate performance spaces. The event acts as a bridge between artists and audiences who share a common interest in pushing creative boundaries. Attendees can expect performances in experimental electronic music, electro acoustic works, noise, live performance, and visual art. The festival provides artists a platform to experiment freely and take risks beyond typical constraints.

Building on the momentum of past editions that attracted numerous artists from the Spanish experimental scene and last year’s showcase featuring an international act, Container, the seventh edition highlights a strong international presence from the United States and promises to be among the most complete to date. The initiative also partners with Cervezas Alhambra to enrich the celebrations with memorable moments that accompany performances and artworks.

Cultural Council Member Nayma Beldjilali shares thoughts on the event: “The aim is to invite all lovers of experimental music to Cigarreras on Saturday afternoon for a unique gathering where artists and the public come together to create a different atmosphere. The audience plays a vital role in this festival, and their participation is encouraged.”
