David Crowe, a 33-year-old follower of Taylor Swift, faced stalking accusations after being taken into custody near the pop star’s residence. The incident was reported by the New York Post.
The arrest marked Crowe’s second since appearing outside Swift’s home. Prosecutors indicated at the hearing that the man had been observed close to Swift’s property about 30 times in the preceding two months. A neighbor later recalled seeing Crowe rummaging through a trash can, a detail that underscored the level of disturbance surrounding the case.
Reports from January 23 noted that Swift’s alleged stalker was arrested in New York just two days after another man tried to gain entry to the singer’s home and was detained. An eyewitness told the outlet that the individual appeared at Swift’s home a few hours after being released from earlier detention. The man, seen around 15:00, was again detained at 16:00. The publication claimed the suspect resisted arrest in an effort to avoid accountability.
Witnesses who observed Crowe at the time described him waiting near Swift’s residence for about a month. He reportedly slept on the stairs of his own home, smoked heavily, shouted, and stared at neighbors, creating ongoing unease for local residents. On one occasion, he was seen bearing flowers towards the home.
Earlier coverage noted that Sharon Osbourne faced a separate medical emergency linked to a drug overdose.
