Shakira announced this Thursday that on March 22 she will release her next album, Las mujeres no lloran, accompanied by a vinyl edition—the first time in her career she offers a physical LP alongside her music.

She wrote on social media that the project was not created alone but with the support of her audience and the pack of loyal supporters who have stood by her at every step. A photo shows diamonds rolling down her face in the shape of tears, underscoring the themes of resilience and renewal she explores in the record.

She added that the album’s production felt like alchemy. As she wrote each song, she rebuilt herself. When she sang them, her tears transformed into diamonds and her vulnerability into strength, a vivid metaphor for transformation through artistry.

Las mujeres no lloran marks the twelfth studio album in Shakira’s catalog. Her record label Sony Music describes it as a dazzling testament to perseverance and the power of music to turn painful experiences into meaningful moments.

The new album includes seven previously released hits, such as Music Sessions Vol. 53 with Bizarrap and TQG with Karol G, both of which debuted at the top of Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart.

Music Sessions Vol. 53 also stands as the Spanish-language track with the most daily streams in Spotify history and earned awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Song at the Latin Grammys held last year. The track also set 12 records recognized by Guinness World Records.

Other tracks on Las mujeres no lloran include Te felicito with Rauw Alejandro, Copa Vacía with Manuel Turizo, and Acróstico featuring Milan and Sasha, Shakira’s children. The album completes with eight new songs and one remix.

With Las mujeres no lloran, Shakira ventures into vinyl for the first time in her career.

The album will be issued in four different art editions, each paired with a color-variant vinyl. Editions will come in red, sapphire, emerald, and diamond hues. The red, sapphire, and emerald versions will be sold online and at select locations, while the diamond-colored edition will be available in general retail channels as well.

The artist began teasing the announcement the previous Sunday. During a broadcast of the college football final, Shakira posted several photos on her social media, pairing her image with the diamond-tear motif to hint at the vinyl release and the emotional themes of the project.
