New lawsuits pile up against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
At least six new complaints have been filed in the last several hours, adding to more than a hundred already lodged against the famous American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. The suits accuse him of sexual assault against men, women, and, in this instance, a 16-year-old, according to CNN.
All of the complaints were filed anonymously by plaintiffs identified as John Doe and Jane Doe in a federal court in the Southern District of New York.
The lawsuits allege several crimes, including rape, sexual assault, and drugging victims. CNN notes that the accusations describe harmful acts carried out in the context of the entertainer’s influence and power over the victims.
At least two of the alleged assaults occurred at the so-called “White Parties” that the musician hosted between 1998 and 2006, CNN reports.
These latest suits form part of a wave of civil actions against Combs brought by attorney Tony Buzbee, based in Houston, and attorney Andrew Van Arsdale, who previously confirmed they represent at least 120 alleged victims, including minors.
“Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process,” Combs’ lawyers told CNN. “In court, the truth will prevail: Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone, adult or minor, man or woman.”
Combs remains in federal custody while awaiting trial in the Southern District of New York on charges of organized crime conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. The entertainer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
As of yesterday, when the new lawsuits were filed, Combs faced multiple civil claims accusing him of various sexual misconduct and other alleged illegal activities.
According to CNN, one of the complaints alleges that Combs assaulted a 16-year-old at a “White Party” in the Hamptons in 1998. The document states that Combs ordered the plaintiff, referred to as John Doe, to lower his pants and expose himself, describing it as an initiation rite and a way to prove his worth as a rising star.
The plaintiff is said to have later acknowledged that Combs assaulted him through his power and influence because he hoped to become a star.
The trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025, in New York and is anticipated to last about a month, though federal prosecutors warned that the proceedings could be extended if additional charges are added.
Combs was arrested on September 16 in New York and has been detained without bond since that time.
