Samantha Gilabert began captivating audiences during her time as a contestant on Operación Triunfo 2020. Born in Alicante, she developed a deep love for performance and has long been drawn to the thrill of competition. She now participates in TVE’s Dúos Increíbles, sharing the stage with renowned pop figures such as David Summers. Her participation helped spark renewed excitement around Hombres G, who announced plans to release a commemorative 40-year album featuring collaborations across the group.
In addition to singing, she is releasing a new album. The project Antidote marks a transition into a broader creative life that includes hosting and media work. Gilabert is launching a podcast titled Triunfitas con traumatas, alongside academy classmate Maialen, also known as Scary Girl. Her focus remains unwavering: to grow as a disciplined artist across multiple disciplines and to connect with audiences through many channels.
You’re a singer, writer, and podcaster, what do you feel you’re still missing?
She laughs and says she’d like to expand into rhythm-based performances across varied formats. There is always room to explore more ways to move and connect through music.
Antidote Tour starts next year. which version of Samantha will fans meet?
The plan is to take the experience seriously while keeping it fun. The aim is to enjoy every moment with her musicians, keeping performances lively and organic. She hopes to sing a wide range of songs and to surprise audiences along the way.
What are your expectations from the audience on the tour?
Let them feel excited and use the time to forget their worries. The goal is for the audience to leave wanting to return for more, with a sense of renewal after each show.
The tour launches in Madrid, travels through Barcelona, and ends in Valencia. Is Valencia the fitting finale?
Valencia seems like a natural finale and a family-friendly stop. It is expected to be a highlight, with friends and many musicians gathering to share the night and perform together.
Any tips for aspiring artists?
Two names that come up as inspirations are La Fúmiga and Cacti — artists who bring great energy and authentic vibes. Surround yourself with good people and stay grounded.
What has changed since your time with Cactus and your second album Antidoto?
Four years have passed since her OT experience. She notes turning thirty and growing from twenty-five to a more mature artist, both personally and musically. The journey has sharpened her voice and broadened her artistic horizons.
What can you share about Duos Increíbles with David Summers?
They reached the semi-finals this week and fans can watch them every Tuesday on RTVE. Recently, Summers and Gilabert announced that she would be featured on Hombres G’s 40-year compilation, collaborating with the group on new material.
How was the OT experience overall?
The experience was rewarding and demanding. They put in long hours of practice, traveled widely, and performed with mentors such as Paloma San Basilio, Teo Bok, and Coti. It’s a mix of thrill and sacrifice, with the undeniable sense of progress that comes from pushing through tough moments.
Do competitions suit you long-term?
She believes competition is compatible with her path, though she emphasizes that her work is driven by love for music, TV, and performance. The camera also feels familiar and comfortable to her, which helps sustain her momentum.

Learning never stops when in front of a camera. Each appearance offers fresh lessons and opportunities to grow as a performer and storyteller.
OT 2023 has just released. How does the new format feel?
It feels highly engaging and full of energy. There is real enthusiasm behind the format, and she believes it can have lasting appeal for audiences who tune in with genuine curiosity.
Is Valencia underrepresented in this edition?
She notes there are few participants from Valencia and hopes to see more advocates of the Valencian language represented in future editions. It’s a reminder of the value of regional voices.
What advice would you give to future winners?
Savor the moment because it passes quickly. OT is a unique phase that sits inside a larger career, and while it can be missed at first, there is a long road ahead with many opportunities to grow.
Triunfitas con traumatas continues to illuminate the podcasting path. How did that start?
The idea emerged during their academy days when Maialen and she discussed a podcast idea. After leaving the show, they decided to take it seriously, reach out to the right people, and get the project going. The response has been extremely positive; listeners love it and the format works well, delivering real connection with fans.
Looking toward the end of the year, what lies ahead?
A new single will drop in December and will be performed at a New Year’s Eve gala on Spanish television. In January through March there will be Incredible Duos shows, along with ongoing podcasting and other projects. The schedule promises more festival appearances and fresh opportunities to explore in the summer months.
