Born among a sea of palm trees, Salmaya Live Festival runs from July 7 to 23 and brings together well known national artists for an unforgettable spectacle. But Salmaya isn’t just another festival; it offers a one of a kind experience.

The Salmaya Live Festival crowns the tenth anniversary of COPE Elche, staged at the Altabix car park between Miguel Hernandez University. The event features two distinct spaces: the Zone Live, a main auditorium for live music, and the Living Zone, where DJ sessions keep the evening buzzing.

Artists such as Antonio Orozco, Vanesa Martín, Sergio Dalma, India Martínez, Antonio José, Ana Mena, and Twin Melody headline Salmaya Live Festival. The lineup also includes surprises like performances by Morancos and Commander Laura to add humor to the summer nights.

VIP experiences stand out as a differentiating feature for attendees, including privileged viewing areas and private culinary tastings with fine wines from local wineries and other high quality products.

Non-festival events

Beyond the music, Salmaya offers plans for the city when the crowd isn’t present. Nearby Pola Park, VisitElche tourist routes, and mornings of entertainment and shopping at L’Aljub Shopping Center provide a broader experience of the area.

The festival is sustained by sponsors and regional partners such as Pola Park, VisitElche, and L’Aljub, along with local businesses and institutions. Production is handled by Imaginary Events, with media partnership from Cableworld and COPE Elche.

Jewel in the crown of the tenth anniversary

Daniel Priego and Laura Cardenas lead the festival, having studied and refined the model since COPE Elche’s sixth anniversary and are keen on expanding its impact. They note that bringing high-profile artists to town has boosted the city’s profile and created a template for future projects.

The management team believes that radio media can spark fresh initiatives. With the tenth anniversary upon them, COPE Elche plans a diverse array of cultural and sporting events, representing a boutique festival that highlights Valencian Community culture.

The choice of artists felt natural, as the team has long planned from its early years. The Salmaya Live Festival is presented as more than a series of concerts; it is a cultural moment that aligns with the city’s identity and aspirations.

As stated by Laura Cárdenas, deputy director, music is an experience and Salmaya aims to elevate it. A concert becomes richer when paired with pre- and post-show moments featuring beloved artists, allowing fans to connect more deeply with the music and with each other.

There is a belief that audiences want more than a simple performance. The organizers emphasize a sense of community and shared enjoyment, where attendees mix with locals and visitors to create lasting memories during and after the event.

A show fades, but the Salmaya vibe lingers. The last sixteen nights cultivate a sense of anticipation for the next edition.

Food for all tastes

Gastronomy is part of the Salmaya experience, not an afterthought. The festival aims to redefine festival cuisine with collaborations from notable brands and local producers. VIP zones feature special culinary options, while general admission includes vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices to ensure everyone can enjoy the offerings.

Elche as the starting point, the world as the destination

The festival proudly roots itself in Elche while inviting visitors from across the country. The name Salmaya draws on a local Arabic word meaning saltwater, underscoring ties to place and tradition. The venue at Camp d’Elx pays homage to the municipality’s customs, gastronomy, and life philosophy, with plans to use natural elements that invite visitors from afar to join in the celebration.

The organizers express pride in Elche while aiming to position Salmaya as a key tourism hub. They envision a campaign that highlights the city’s mysteries, parties, beaches, and agricultural landscapes, inviting people to experience a different kind of festival and a unique advertising approach.

A breath of fresh air for Elche’s economy

Summer is a powerful season for the region, drawing thousands of tourists by air and road. While the local economy is diverse, tourism remains a major contributor. The festival’s presence provides a significant economic boost through hospitality, dining, and shopping, with a wide range of experiences to suit all tastes and ages.

Estimates suggest the event will generate substantial economic impact for the city, creating direct and indirect jobs and supporting local businesses. Festival-goers are encouraged to explore nearby accommodations, eateries, and shopping options, contributing to broader economic activity.

Salaya’s concept grew from a four-year planning cycle and envisions a future where a top-tier national artist lineup can anchor a lasting cultural and tourism reference point for the country. The organizers describe Salmaya as an experience that goes beyond a concert, offering a sense of being part of something larger and more exclusive.
