In Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken actions concerning the rapper Scally Milano following his performance in St. Petersburg. After the concert, a number of administrative cases were opened and a criminal case was also initiated. A deputy of the State Duma, Mikhail Romanov, stated that the performer faces accusations related to promoting prohibited substances and discrediting the Russian armed forces. This information was reported by Fontanka.
News outlets indicate that the Ministry conducted psychological and linguistic assessments, which reportedly concluded that Scally Milano engaged in promoting psychotropic drugs via online channels. In the aftermath of the concert at the Giant Hall, four administrative protocols were issued for alleged underage drinking. Additionally, authorities reviewed the rapper’s public statements and concluded that some of his remarks could be interpreted as discrediting the Russian military.
Earlier, Scally Milano reportedly reached out to Mizulina, claiming a willingness to reform how her work is viewed. He said, in his words, that he does not personally use drugs and has not broken the law; he described his songs as expressive creativity and expressed an awareness of past mistakes, pledging to reconsider his approach to his art.
According to Mizulina, Scally Milano urged the personal oversight body to review the drug-propaganda case. The president of the Safe Internet League commented that if a check had already begun, Milano would like his actions to be considered in that process. Reports note that the musician’s catalog on streaming platforms no longer includes lyrics that reference drugs.
