The Russian artist who renamed himself Johnny Depp last year addressed Russians rather than the American actor himself. The message appeared on socialbites.ca. In the communication, the artist echoed lines spoken by the film’s lead star, which were shared ahead of the trailer for the feature Jeanne Dubarry.
“Watch our movie, Jeanne Dubarry. I am proud of them. Take care and see you soon!” declared the Russian namesake of the Hollywood actor in his message.
Johnny Depp, known for his key role in Jeanne Dubarry, recorded a video message to the audience prior to the film’s screening. The recording was shown before the premiere at Moscow’s Khudozhestvenny cinema. According to the press office of the Russian World Vision film company, the actor’s appeal was intended to promote the film on a global scale, not only for Russian viewers. The movie is scheduled to release in Russia on July 20, with Depp portraying the historical figure Louis XV.
Earlier, in 2021, Depp also reached out to Russian audiences in a video message before the premiere of The Great, greeting them in Russian.
