Actress Maria Shukshina reacted to the death of the daughter of the Russian public figure Alexander Dugin. On her Telegram channel, she wrote that those responsible for the tragedy deliberately dealt a blow to ideology.
“Kingdom of heaven Daria! Those who did it clearly and clearly understood where to hit first. The real blow is to ideology. This is the basis of everything!” said Shukshina.
On the evening of August 20, political scientist and journalist Daria Dugina died while returning from the Tradition family festival at the Zakharovo estate in the village of Bolshie Vyazemy, near Moscow. An SUV Toyota Land Cruiser exploded as it traveled along the Mozhaisk highway. The Russian Investigative Committee’s Telegram channel stated that an explosive device was allegedly placed in the vehicle.
Media outlets reported that Dugin was expected to travel with his daughter, but he opted to switch to a different car at the last moment. The United Kingdom later opened a criminal case for the murder of a woman connected to this incident.
Earlier, Maria Makarova, the soloist from the group Masha and the Bears, shared a photo taken with Dugina approximately two hours before her death. This gesture added to the public’s interest in the events surrounding the tragedy and the broader implications for political and cultural discourse in Russia.
In the wake of the incident, analysts noted how the attack was widely interpreted in political circles as a direct assault not only on an individual but on the lines of thinking and ideological currents that Dugina and her father have represented. Observers emphasized the sensitivity of the moment in a country where public figures are often at the center of intense scrutiny. Experts urged caution, noting that such events tend to provoke a range of reactions, from speculation to calls for calm and comprehensive investigations. The case has drawn international attention, with commentary focusing on security implications and the potential motives behind the act, as well as the reactions from political actors and cultural communities across Russia and beyond.
