A serious incident in Moscow has left a man in critical condition after an encounter linked to blogger Yevgeny Ponasenkov, who is labeled a foreign agent in the Russian Federation. This development was reported by the Baza Telegram channel, which cited its own source for the information.
The man who collapsed following a confrontation with Ponasenkov and a companion remains in a coma and is on life support. Medical assessments described an open penetrating craniocerebral injury, significant brain contusion and swelling, and multiple skull fractures affecting both the skull vault and the base.
Law enforcement officers have not yet identified the injured party. There are currently no formal charges against Ponasenkov or his associate Ramis Zaripov, according to police statements. Ponasenkov has asserted that his friend did push the man, but that the friend then fell alongside him during the incident.
In a later development, Ponasenkov indicated an intention to pursue legal action against the person he says abused him in central Moscow. He has requested the removal of video footage from security cameras to aid in identifying the individual and to pursue prosecution. The situation continues to unfold as authorities review the events surrounding the altercation and the medical condition of the seriously injured man.
