Live the Roof Returns: Summerside Sounds in Alicante and Beyond

After more than a decade organizing private concerts, Live the Roof returns with a carefully crafted program that blends intimate sounds with the atmosphere of summer’s final light. Each evening becomes a curated moment where the music of today sits against the backdrop of unforgettable sunsets, creating a sensory experience that lingers well after the last note fades.

In Alicante, the event unfolds in a historic city district anchored by Castillo de Santa Bárbara. The four concerts scheduled for August and September promise a varied, high-caliber lineup that resonates with locals and visitors alike, inviting audiences to linger and listen as the days grow longer and the nights cooler.

The cycle opens on August 18 with THEME, a group led by Luis Alberto Segura. Segura reemerged on stage in 2020 after dissolving in 2018, presenting a refreshed project, Evergreen Oak. The band brings a blend of melodic storytelling and contemporary textures that have become their signature, inviting listeners to reconnect with live, in-the-round performances that feel both intimate and expansive.

Following this, August 25 features the renowned singer Alice Wonder, whose recent work has drawn widespread attention on the national stage. Wonder’s performances fuse emotive vocal delivery with piercing, personal lyricism, making her one of the standout voices in the current musical landscape. Her set at Live the Roof is billed as a highlight of the summer, offering fans a chance to experience a rising artist who continues to broaden her reach in Spain’s live scene. This appearance marks another milestone in Wonder’s ongoing journey toward broader recognition and impact within the country’s Eurovision-adjacent conversations.

On September 8, the folk-rock outfit Arizona Baby takes the spotlight, followed by Bely Basarte, who recently released Contigo, a project that underscores her versatility and evolving musical voice. Basarte’s performance is anticipated as a fitting culmination to the early autumn leg of Live the Roof, showcasing artists who fuse tradition with exploration and boundary-pushing arrangements. Her presence is expected to leave a lasting impression as the program moves toward its closing acts.

Over the course of three months, Live the Roof will also visit other Spanish cities, taking high-level music projects to Barcelona, Cádiz, Granada, Madrid, Seville and Valencia. The tour continues to expand the reach of live listening experiences, delivering thoughtfully staged evenings that connect artists with diverse audiences across a broad geography. Each stop is designed to maximize the unique blend of venue history, city rhythm, and the performers’ distinctive voices, creating a curated journey through contemporary sounds and enduring melodies.
