Work has begun on the countdown to the II Resurrection Festival, set to light up Madrid’s Plaza de Cibeles on Saturday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. After drawing crowds of more than 60,000 in 2023, the second edition returns to Spain’s capital with fresh elements aimed at elevating the experience even further.

According to estimates from the organizers, the Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP), this open-to-all event welcomes attendees regardless of faith. Officials predict a large, multigenerational turnout, with more than 75,000 people expected to join a musical program headlined by Modestia Aparte, Marilia (Ella Baila Sola), and the English group HTB Worship (Alpha). Also taking the stage are Hakuna Group Music, Juan Peña, and Esténez, who previously performed with notable success during the inaugural edition. The concert will be hosted again by popular content creator Nachter, joined by television and radio host Jota Abril.

A member of Modestia Aparte, Fernando López, explains that performing at such a family-friendly, communal event is a wonderful experience for the band. Sharing their music in a concert that’s intergenerational is surprising in the best possible way, and the warm reception from the audience is something they treasure.

Juan Peña adds that last year’s concert was extraordinary for him. He notes that, first, as a Christian, singing to God is deeply meaningful, and second, witnessing such a diverse crowd—young people and families across ages—made him feel incredibly proud. It felt magical.

Esténez, a rising Spanish pop artist, describes a goal for the event: to foster hope through music. He believes art, especially in urban styles, can convey messages of hope, love, and respect. He expresses gratitude for the opportunity, acknowledging that as a young artist he also needs these uplifting messages.

For the second year in a row, the Resurrection Festival will offer free admission to attendees, aiming to recreate the exceptional atmosphere of fraternity that marked the 2023 edition. The festival’s first edition, held on April 15 of the previous year, succeeded in filling Madrid’s iconic plaza with families and teenagers and reached a broad audience across social media, surpassing 50 million views and interactions. The event is presented as a community gathering, designed to be accessible to everyone who wishes to participate.
