This Holy Week, the warriors of Xian and Sorolla become two focal points for families, with events at MARQ and Mubag. The season invites visitors to explore ancient cultures and vibrant art through engaging activities that appeal to all ages.

Beyond these two museums, nearby sites Lucentum and Banyets Illeta dels Banyets are also part of the celebration and will offer free family programs from April 11 to 14. The joint effort highlights a blend of archaeology, history, and visual arts that resonate with both locals and visitors from Canada, the United States, and beyond.

The CV MARQ Foundation has arranged educational workshops and guided tours designed for young learners. The focus spans the legacy of the Quin and Han dynasties in China, the famed Xian Warriors, and related cultural themes. Activities for children aged 10 to 12 are scheduled at the ruins on selected days, with sessions running from 11:00 to 13:30. On the 11th and 12th the program takes place at Lucentum, and on the 13th and 14th at the residential area of La Illeta dels Banyets in El Campello.

The events at MARQ emphasize accessible learning experiences, with entry free and limited capacity to 25 participants per workshop or visit. Pre-registration is available at the MARQ ticket office to secure a spot.

One of Sorolla’s works showcased in the Mubag exhibition serves as a visual anchor for the program, illustrating the dialogue between Valencian painting and the artist’s era.

At Mubag, a special calendar presents two new themed itineraries for families to enjoy the temporary exhibition focused on Valencian painting and the era of Sorolla. The exhibition fosters conversations and contrasts across artworks and styles, inviting audiences to discover how light, color, and form interact. The exhibit has drawn more than 20,000 visitors and will continue in Alicante through June 24.

Two guided family-friendly tours offer insights tailored for children aged 6 to 12, with options in both the morning and the afternoon at 12:00 and 18:00. Each session lasts about an hour and a half and provides a lively, kid-centered exploration of the artworks and their historical contexts.

Participation requires pre-registration via the museum website, or by inquiry through the designated contact channels, with limited spaces to ensure a quality experience for every family group.
