Actress Ekaterina Volkova, best known for her role in the TV series Voronins, spoke on social media about a difficult health episode she endured after a severe bout of watermelon poisoning. She described eating the fruit on a Friday and feeling unwell within hours. By the following day, Volkova had two performances scheduled; one was covered by a stand-in, while she herself faced a challenging choice in the other.

When an artist takes the stage, adrenaline can carry them through moments of strain. In Volkova’s case, that adrenaline helped her push through three exhausting hours, but as the performance progressed, her body grew weaker as it fought the poisoning and the stress of performing. By curtain call, she admitted that the combination of fatigue and illness had taken a toll and that the effort to stay on stage was no longer sustainable.

The actor continued with the filming commitments the next day, explaining that personal obligations and professional duties left little room to cancel. On the way to the shoot, she called emergency services and received several injections to curb vomiting and cramps, followed by an IV to stabilize her condition.

During this period she reflected on a widely publicized medical case involving Roman Kostomarov, recalling moments of frustration over personal care and safety. The memory prompted a critical self-questioning about how mistakes and risk can cascade, especially in high-pressure situations where resilience feels mandatory. Volkova stated that the experience provided important lessons about priority, self-care, and the consequences of pushing beyond safe limits.

This episode was shared alongside other public health concerns, as Kostomarov, the renowned figure skater, faced a serious hospitalization early in January. After New Year performances in an outdoor show, Kostomarov suffered pneumonia and required intensive care, eventually being connected to life support. His condition prompted his transfer to Kommunarka hospital where he underwent urgent interventions, including the use of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation device. The medical team performed procedures that resulted in the amputation of both feet and hands in order to save his life. Kostomarov was eventually discharged from the hospital several months later in July.

In a different vein, the topic of child-rearing was briefly touched upon when a singer named Olga Orlova discussed essential principles in nurturing a young boy, highlighting how parenting approaches can shape resilience and growth in adolescence. These public conversations about health, responsibility, and care illustrate how prominent figures navigate personal challenges while maintaining professional commitments and public visibility.
