Sevilla has its own color and Alicante its signature luxury. That distinction, seen on screen, defined the 37th Goya Awards held last Saturday in the Andalusian capital. If the Goyas are the pinnacle of Spanish cinema, the blue carpet became the main fashion stage. The Alicante contingent did not overwhelm the gala, yet local designers used the moment to shine as never before, and black emerged as the standout hue of the night.
Alicante fashion designers such as Hannibal Laguna, Juan Vidal and Rubén Hernández dressed some of the screen’s most recognizable faces as well as influential figures in the music scene. In the blue carpet moment, Elche placed its fashion footprint on the Goyas 2023 stage.
Rubén Hernández styled actress and presenter Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, who appeared in a strapless gown with beading along the hem. Her choice, set against a long, flowing silhouette, captured the light and drew the eye, giving a quiet radiance to the gala.
Goya’s blue carpet became a vivid backdrop for the week’s best dressed moments, with photographers capturing standout looks as guests moved through the venue.
The Alicante company also dressed our Eurovision 2023 representative, Elche, Blanca Paloma. She attended in an elegant white dress that felt perfectly suited to the occasion: a long, strapless design with two straps at the sleeves and floral detailing around the neckline reminiscent of flamenco tradition.
Blanca Paloma’s look was complemented by contributions from Alicante couturier India Martinez. In presenting the Best Original Song to Leiva and Sabina, Córdoba’s singer chose a daring outfit with a form-fitting silhouette that accentuated her figure, featuring a striking neckline at the back and a leg slit, all adorned with crystals at the neck and hem.

Juan Vidal also participated in the Spanish film festival, along with Toni Acosta, María León and Mariam Hernández. The Tenerife-born actress drew attention in a black gown with an open neckline, a halter top, a ruffled bodice and a semi-sheer long skirt. The look was paired with Martinelli sandals and BVLGARI jewelry, earning her a spot on the best dressed list.
Vidal also dressed María León, showcasing a bold and transparent style. The design featured a champagne-tone satin blouse with a black crepe skirt and a see-through bodice, accented by two embroidered flowers at the front to maintain elegance while making a statement. The sheer neckline at the back extended to the hips, crafting a memorable, daring silhouette.

Mary Hernandez appeared in a white dress with a tunic-style skirt and a knotted bust that revealed a touch of midriff, walking the blue carpet with natural grace, complemented by Sardinero jewelry and Jimmy Choo sandals.
Venezuela-born designer Hannibal Laguna from Alicante represented the region on the Goyas’ red carpet, bringing outfits from Elena Irureta, Sonia Almarcha and director Ana Barbudo. Irureta’s look offered simplicity and elegance, featuring a champagne satin tunic paired with straight black trousers.

The red carpet at the Goyas isn’t reserved for women alone. Men also walked the edge of the event in fashionable footwear, with Elche’s Martinelli brand appearing on several attendees. The Best Supporting Actor winner Luis Zahera joined Javier Castillo and Diego Anido in showcasing Elche craftsmanship on the night.
The iconic Belén Rueda appeared in a golden dress with a cape, completing her look with shoes from the Eldense firm Lodi, adding a final touch of glamour to the evening.
